Peking to Paris Motor Challenge 2010

Há dois rallyes de longa distância (Endurance Rallye), que eu tenho muita vontade de fazer: Safari e o Peking-Paris. Há alguns realizados aqui na América do Sul, mas não me agradam. Outros como o Tulipa da Holanda, o Alpino na Europa Central, o Portugal e claro - o Monte - (com exceção deste último que já fiz e pretendo fazer outros Montes), os demais eu gostaria de fazer, mas estes de grande desafio eu acho o máximo. O máximo que eu me refiro, é atravessar o alto deserto da Mongólia, dentre outros inúmeros desafios. Esse rallye é uma verdadeira caravana - não só pelos times participantes (este ano foram 106 carros inscritos e 98 largaram), como pela infra que está por atrás desta prova (mais ou menos umas 200 pessoas, com veículos específicos para o trajeto). Esse foi o Peking to Paris Motor Challenge 2010.

Na verdade essa prova roda mais de 12 mil quilômetros, com chegada em Paris na Praça Vendome, com direito a passar pelo Arc do Triomphe descendo a Champs Elysees. Foram 37 dias com times de 26 países. Os carros foram desde um Vauxhall de 1970 a um Old Six litros Itala. Vencedores por Categoria: Pioneer - pre 1921: Charles Bishop/Nellie Bishop com Vauxhall 30/98; Vintageant - pre 1941: Steve Hyde/Janet Lyne com Chevrolet Fangio Coupe; e Classic - pre 1961: Matthew Bryson/Gerald Crown com um Holden EH.
